July 3, 2017

Meditation has allowed me to let thoughts and big feelings pass more easily in my day to day life. It is truly the gift that keeps giving.

Dear 2020 Brides...
May 8, 2020

I’ve cried on and off for whole days these past weeks and I’ve found (at least I think I’ve found) a lot of clarity on what this year means for us. I am heartbroken if your wedding had to be cancelled or postponed because I know what your date meant to you. I know that there’s a reason it happened to us this year. I know that the 2020 brides will have their moment and that this was the way that our love story was always supposed to go.

Life is a Road With Bridges
December 12, 2018

Hear me out on this one. Life is a very long road. It comes with twists and turns and speed bumps and detours and exits and stop lights and tons of other drivers and passengers and buses and jams and crashes. You know what it also comes with? Magnificent bridges. Beautiful, bolts-as-big-as-my-whole-body, proud bridges. They can make you want to cry - to see farther and wider than you’ve been able to. They connect time and space and allow people to live and feed their families. They are the hands that don't let go.

The Word "Deployment"
April 17, 2018

Deployment is heavy, it's a heavy feeling that sticks to your back and squeezes your stomach and I don't believe I'll ever feel as though I've earned the right to discuss it with you. My heart now lives with this word. It eats and breathes it and it won't let me rest until it's over. This is my perspective, my experience, my words... and they may only be just words, but I hope they can make you feel these past four and a half months with me.

In The Blood.
November 22, 2017

I grew up thinking that my family was perfect. That there was none other as close as we were. That we were one of a kind - nothing was ever going to happen to us. This is all due to my parents, the role they played in my house, the family dinners we had, the way that they always laughed at each other. It was only until a couple of years ago that my brain started to fight with my heart. My parents aren't perfect and they never were. They are inherently different from one another, and most importantly, they are going through two very different phases of life right now - and this is all okay.

Your Desk Job Isn't Killing You, You're Killing You
August 24, 2017

I've recently read the last article I'll ever read about "Quitting Your Job And Living Your Truth." You know those articles, the ones where the author rambles on and on about how people who work in office buildings, who have stable 9-5 jobs, who work behind a computer screen, are basically dead inside. Those articles, where the author seems to have figured life out with one easy solution: quit your job and be happy.

The Lucky Duck: Diary Series
June 20, 2017

I started my first diary when I was six years old. Now, I write in The Lucky Duck. This (very intimate) series will be a look into the pages I've shared my life on, what they meant then and what they mean now.

Love & Distance
May 17, 2017

Love and distance. To me, a beautifully painful combination. Two words in which their meanings and expectations and responsibilities have intertwined - now inseparable. I don't know one without the other, and I'm not sure if I'd have it any other way. Unpredictable and stable to it's core: here's my take on it.

How To Be A Shooting Star
March 9, 2017

Close your eyes. What do you see? I see stars, millions of stars, stretching and disappearing across the darkness. They never stop - constantly on my mind and the back of my eyelids. I believe it to be a message from the universe and this is me decoding it for you:

My Goopy Skincare Routine
March 6, 2017

If you know me, you know I love the word goopy. If you don't know me, I love the word goopy. If you know me, you know I take my morning and nighttime skincare routine semi seriously. Your skincare routine does NOT have to be expensive! It should be something you can maintain - because healthy, glowing skin requires everyday love, not a billion dollars.

10 Lessons I Learned From My 90-Year-Old Italian Grandfather
February 19, 2017

I took a month off of life and flew down to West Palm Beach to spend some quality time with my Nonno. Not only is he the cutest grandpa in the whole world, but he's sharp, stubborn, very traditional, and very wise. He's worked hard his entire life, has been blessed with a beautiful family and many friends, and still has the will to live and travel on his own. I'm lucky that I got this chance to get inside his head a little bit....
